The October 7th meeting will begin with a public hearing to consider extending Sunday on-sale liquor hours. Currently, the city’s ordinance states that on-sale establishments can not open prior to 12:00 noon on Sunday’s. Per Minnesota Statute, the earliest an on-sale establishment can open is 10:00 a.m.
Under old business, the City Council will review a final progress report for the restoration of the historic city hall. The report indicates that all requirements set forth for restoration have been completed by the Colonna’s.
In new business, the Council will review a liquor license application made by Al Graunke to open “Big Al’s Bar & Grill” (formerly Ernie’s Bar & Grill). In addition, there will be a review of an amendment to the sign ordinance and future land use plan for the city.
The city is still in the process of reviewing a use policy for the city hall; however, that matter will be placed on the Council’s October 21st agenda.
The meeting will wrap up with a report from the Police Department.
The Winsted City Council will meet to discuss these items at their meeting on Tuesday, October 7th at 6 p.m. in the Winsted City Hall Council Chambers. If you need more information on an issue, call City Hall and ask for the City Staff Report (not all agenda items have a corresponding report) which will provide you with background and financial information on the topic. Meetings are broadcasted live on Winsted Channel 10 at 6 p.m. and replayed on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at
10 a.m., 7 p.m., and 10:30 p.m.
The “Town Crier” is created using the preliminary agenda for the upcoming City Council meeting. For a complete listing of all agenda items please visit www.winsted.mn.us or pick an agenda up at City Hall.
