Future Winsted Police Officers?

Chief Mike Henrich spends time with a pre-school class from Holy Trinity. The young students received a tour of the Police Department and reviewed the equipment used by officers in the community.

Town Crier - April 1st - City Council Meeting

The April 1st meeting will begin with a presentation to the City Council from John Brunkhorst, McLeod County Highway Engineer, regarding the crosswalk at the intersection of CR 1 and Main Avenue West and the county’s policy on “children at play” signs.

Under old business, the City Council will review a proposal for a new agreement with Todd and Kelly Colonna, which would create a phased program to ensure the completion of the restoration work at the historic city hall. The agreement would break the remaining restoration work into four phases, with the last phase to be completed by December of 2008. The city’s previous agreement with the Colonna’s did not call out a completion date for the project.

The City Council will also receive a construction update on the city hall and lakefront promenade project. In addition, People Service will present their regular department report to the City Council.

In other matters, the City Council will review amendments to airport land lease agreement, discuss a policy on private docks on city property, and review the 2008 City Council goals and action plan.

The Winsted City Council will meet to discuss these items at their meeting on Tuesday, April 1st at 6 p.m. in the Winsted City Hall Council Chambers. If you need more information on an issue, call City Hall and ask for the City Staff Report (not all agenda items have a corresponding report) which will provide you with background and financial information on the topic. Meetings are broadcasted live on Winsted Channel 10 at 6 p.m. and replayed on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at
